Agnosia (2010)

The protagonist is a young woman, Joan Prats suffering from agnosia, a strange, primary visual disease that is one of the neuropsychological disorders of perception. Although her eyes and ears are in perfect condition, her brain is not able to correctly interpret the stimuli it receives. Joan is the only person to know an industrial secret left behind by her late father and becomes the victim of a sinister plan to extract this information. Her captors plan to use her sensory condition to help extract the information that they so desperately want.

very well filmed...reminds a little bit of jeunets movies...but it lacks a little bit in entertainment...you donÂ´t have to watch it but on the other hand...you wonÂ´t regret it...

Le cinéma de genre espagnol du moment tourne décidément beaucoup autour des problèmes de vision. Après "Les yeux de Julia", thriller psychologique qui utilisait la cécité grandissante de son héroïne pour se doter d'un concept visuel intéressant, voici "Agnosia", du nom de cette pathologie cognitive qui empêche le traitement logique par le sujet des stimuli visuels, sonores ou olfactifs. Seulement, après quelques aperçu visuels de la maladie qui parviennent à susciter un certain malaise, "Agnosia" cesse peu à peu d'employer son idée directrice dans cette optique, et même d'en faire le pivot central du film, qui se mue alors en austère drame familial, avec un peu de romance contrariée et deux ou trois touches de fantastique graphique. Complots, espionnage industriel, coucheries, on se croirait chez des Steenford qui fabriqueraient des lentilles plutôt que de la bière. Dommage d'avoir dilué le fort potentiel "thriller" de l'agnosie dans une oeuvre finalement plus ennuyeuse qu'autre chose.

Drama thriller romance with some nice visuals and an interesting premise. Unfortunately, the film suffers from a somewhat convoluted plot and the makers really don't do much with their ideas. Could have been interesting, but it simmers down to a run-of-the-mill romance film with the occasional moment of brightness.

En meget speciel thriller/kÃ¦rlighedsfilm. Skuespillerne gÃ¸r det glimrende og historien er rimelig original, men spÃ¦ndingen bliver simpelthen ikke holdt og moralen er svÃ¦r at gennemskue. Dog OK underholdning.
