A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures (2010)

Born on a Baja, California beach in 1959, new hatchling Sammy races across the beach to the ocean while avoiding being caught by seagulls and crabs. Thus begins Sammy's incredible fifty-year ocean journey where he overcomes obstacles, both natural and man-made, while trying to fulfill his dream of travelling around the world. Along the way he meets his best friend, a fellow turtle named Ray, and never forgets about Shelly, a turtle he saved that first day on the beach and the one he's always loved.

A cute movie, obviously made for families and the younger generation. This whole journey did seem really long though, and at one point got very boring for me. The animations were nice as well as the voices so it was pleasant to watch (visually). Compared to a movie like Finding Nemo, this just wasn't that good of a film and the director just seemed to come up short on this one. Should be a fun watch for the kids, but anyone else should be aware because this could be a very long 90 minutes for you.

This movie was alright but wow was it ever coincidental. However, children would probably love it and that is the target audience.

I find it difficult to find appropriate movies for younger children and we absolutely enjoy this movie. Yes, it's nemo-esque. Yes it has a clear environmental message. Yes, it is simple, but that's what WE LOVED ABOUT IT! Good role-models of friendship, fate and life. Thumbs up from this Hollywood Mama!

I don't understand why they're comparing this to Finding Nemo. A Turtle's Tale has it's own charm. :) I loved it!
