not really sure what the point of this movie is but it's interesting. guy pearce is bomb? lol but i'm not carving his name in my forehead

It's too common to complain that a book is better than the movie. But in A Slipping-Down Life, the score trumps what's on screen as well.

The predictable plot lurches forward elliptically, and it's difficult to sustain interest in it.

Disappointing. The acting was pretty good for the most part, but the story was a bit bland. Yes, there were some unique moments in the film (I mean, the main character carves a name into her forehead), but for the most part it was a pretty generic film. I really like Lilly Taylor, but I felt the supporting cast of Sara Rue and John Hawkes really out performed everyone else (including Guy Pearce). I really don't have much to say about this film, it was just pretty bland. Oh yeah, some nice camera work at the beginning, there you go I had something to say.
