Hanging out with Ozwald Boateng for 98 minutes feels far too long as he is rarely probes about either himself or his profession, and as a result his film often resembles a drawn-out reality TV show.

BRILLIANT - A Man's Story is a study in the process of organic, immersive documentary-making. The culmination of over a decade of work, and the product of a slow-burning deep friendship, the film raises questions of objectivity and how footage can be used or misused to reshape a subject or story. It is always going to be difficult to remove the filmmaker from the film.

Beautifully crafted documentary about a hard working man. Structure very fast and hypnotic, film schools finest. Only thing was oswald didn't age much so the years seem a bit too busy, but thumbs up.
