A Little Romance (1979)

Intellectually precocious teenager Lauren King lives in Paris with her somewhat ditzy mother. On a movie set, she strikes up a friendship with teenage film buff Daniel Michon. After Lauren's mother forbids her to date the outspoken Daniel, the young lovebirds team up with eccentric pickpocket Julius to run away to Venice, where, according to legend, a couple who kiss under the Bridge of Sighs will stay together forever.

I saw this while growing up... very cool and genuine international romance story... The closing scene with the music is like real life...

you know i really loved this film as a kid. it sort of set a tone for me of being different and romantic. seeing it again was enjoyable. i questioned laurence olivier's acting. it was almost an older more exaggerated style that was a little off putting in comparison to the natural style of lane and bernard. interesting.

I wandered on to this movie almost ten years ago on A&E or something like it. Tried to find it at Blockbuster a few years later with no luck. Good to see some people remember suck a charming love story, plus it's got bicycles in it...seals the movie as a classic. The girl is so adorable! I can't wait to marry a girl like her some day!

Wonderful coming of age/romance film. Probably one of the best films in this genre. It seems to have inspired films like Before Sunrise and Little Manhattan, and I dare say it may actually be better than either of those.
