A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! (2011)

The television movie is set in the city of Dimmsdale and centers on the series' main protagonist Timmy Turner with his fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda and his fairy godbrother Poof. In the movie, Timmy is now 23 years old but is still in fifth grade with his fairy-obsessed fifth grade teacher Mr. Crocker. Despite being grown up, Timmy finds a loophole in the fairy rulebook Da Rules: if he continues to act like a kid, he will still get to keep his fairies. However, the dilemma rises when Tootie, who was once a dorky girl when she was 10 years old, returns to Dimmsdale as an attractive woman. Timmy falls in love with her, a sign that he is growing up to an adult, which means he is closer to losing his fairies. Meanwhile, an oil business tycoon named Hugh J. Magnate, Jr., who teams up with Mr. Crocker, plans to use Timmy's fairies' magic in order to promote his oil business.

This compelling movie features Drake as Timmy Turner, who made an amazing cartoon seem so alive. However, I found the movie a bit much for me, and being a 22-year-old male, the plot just hit a little too close to home in what is happening in my life right now. I am experiencing a lot of troubles in my love life, and these matters are too mature for any youths. I also find the idea of harnessing the power of fairies for an oil company way too unbelievable. I mean, come on, am I right?! Despite the plot holes, I did enjoy Drake and his wonderful performance, both in the soundtrack and the role of Timmy Turner.

Pretty embarrassing to watch predictable and brings up some really disturbing questions. Should have been animated because everyone acts like cartoon characters. I expected worse but its still bad pretend it doesnt exist lalalalalalalala

i was shocked, excited, and dissapointed all at once when i saw the commercial for this movie. it was cheesy as always, but its obvious that this was the best they could do while staying along the lines of the fairly odd parrents. i would have liked to see other characters like trixie and vernonica, and maybe remmee buxaplenty. they also clearly forgot that tootie and trixie are sisters. and chester and aj are supposed to be timmy's friends not his haters!!!
