A Bear Named Winnie (2004)

Based on the true story of a Canadian soldier, enroute to World War I from Winnipeg, who adopts an orphaned bear cub at White River Ontario. It is namned Winnie (for Winnipeg) and eventually ends up at the London Zoo where it became the inspiration for A.A.Milne's Winnie The Pooh stories.

the story of the real Winnie the pooh. well sort of! is Winnie wasn't rescued and smuggled to the UK in a trunk then donated to London Zoo, everybody's favorite honey eating bear Winnie the pooh wouldn't have been created. the film has so many laughs and the bear in real life was everyones friend up till her ripe old age of 40.

Love it Espesaly since its the true story of the bear that was the inspiration of the worlds loved honey eating silly old bear Winnie the Pooh.

Billled as the true story of Winnie the pooh, it is almost nothing of the sort. However, it is the based on a true story of a Canadian Black Bear, who ended up being snuck aboard a military ship to England during World War I that ended up at the London Zoo and A.A. Miline's kid named his toy bear after the Zoo bear. It was funny and light heated, but in the end showed the problems of perpetual war even 100 years ago. I highly recommend to anyone.
