I promise you you've seen this before. I also promise that you've seen this done better. 7 Minutes tries to be original, but instead is a poor mans Memento meets Dog Day Afternoon. There is the obligatory crook with a heart of gold, the woman as pawn to get to her man, the unplanned shooting (ok, more than one), a simple plan gone horribly wrong. On that note, what kind of a plan is 'in and out in 7 minutes? Because that's literally all we get. Save yourself the time and rewatch Dog Day Afternoon followed by Memento instead.

Timing is everything, and this movie succeeds in relating its story in scenes involving each of its main characters in the 7 minutes the criminals involved in a robbery have planned before the cops arrive. All actors are superb. Unusual Seattle setting. If you like character and suspense movies told in a different way, you'll like this one. Totally agree with Elizabeth S's review here. If you find this underwhelming, you are very jaded indeed.

7 Minutes is a good movie, but better ones have been made before. The general plot and characters are solid, but its fast pace and deluge of flashbacks make us forget several things, killing the tension and character development in the process. It's fine but not beautiful enough to be unforgettable.

It's hard to find the words, but "7 Minutes" has this kind of...essence. The fast-paced action of the heist combined with a certain kind of quiet--captured with beautiful cinematography-- makes the atmosphere of this movie more than unique; it makes it. a kind of fascinating. It's the kind of movie I immediately want to see (and will) a second time to savor its almost otherworldly atmosphere even more now that I've discovered it in the first reviewing. The characters are so rich, so subtle yet intense, I can imagine them as characters in a short story. This movie is really unique in a thought-provoking, intriguing and entertaining way. This is true arthouse cinema. Really cool movie.

There isn't a character here... who doesn't feel like a low-res scan of a shaky photocopy of a faded polaroid of a character in a better crime drama, none of which is helped by a plot that's too simple to generate tension even from its narrative tricks.
