One of Keanu's best. A little over the top with some of the effects but a great movie. Definitely one I could watch over and over again.

A likable cast and thrilling action sequences make 47 Ronin watchable even if it's ending is sad.

anybody who ever barely like 300, last samurai, samurai films, asian culture or anime ought to watch the "garbage" film 47 ronin. Its worth watching for its influences, you see subtle variations on details stereotypical of a samurai flick-like for example some of the costumes are totally korean- and the fantasy CGI is not bad. and it has the best ending of any Hollywood movie.

A friend of mine said he had heard this film referred to as "our generation's Plan 9 From Outer Space." Whenever you watch it, make sure you watch it correctly. I've heard people give it negative reviews due to its simplicity, both in story and writing. However, these are people who did not press play or enter the theater ready to listen to an ancient Japanese folk tale. Essentially, it is as though they asked an old man the story, and then they translated the dialogue directly from the old man's word and gave it visuals and a score. So, no, it is not this generation's Plan 9; to think of it as such is ignorant of its source material. It is admittedly slow-paced, but understandably so. I loved this film through and through.
