The ultimate message of this movie is absolutely horrendus . The spirit of human exploration only survives to explore the universe in an AI, that just happens to be the exterminator of all human life. The glory sceen at the end is jrather frightful if all the other AI's also were required to execute perfect genocides in order to transcend.

One of a great sci-fi, with incredible thought about A.I, Teleportation and hyper light.

Derivative of a bunch of movies, 2001 A Space Odyssey, mostly. The deliberate pacing and low-key acting were fine. Special effects okay. Keeping the viewer properly oriented and informed of what was going on, well ... not so effective, but perhaps intentional. Overly preachy. Another vehicle for telling us humans how much we've screwed up the planet. Sorry if that's a spoiler, but I would have liked to know that coming in.

After watching the whole movie I still have very little idea of what is going on. The effects feel cheap and the story is not told very well.

I always read a review of a movie before watching it, somehow i didn't for this movie and i'm glad i didn't because it would have prevented me from watching this movie as it gets a really low rating on all review sites i visit. This is the first time for me writing a review (for movies). This because i believe this movie is HIGHLY UNDERRATED. I immensely enjoyed this movie and was shocked to see the low rating. I also loved the ending, i think it was brilliant. I recently re-watched 2001 A Space Odyssey and in my opinion 2036 was way better.
